If your family is anything like mine, holidays and vacations bring us together in a special way. We gather around the big table and we, as my sister says, “work a puzzle”. This time-tested tradition is a great way to get everyone involved—even the most disconnected teen will have a hard time resisting the call of the jigsaw!
In honor of this family tradition, we’ve created two high-quality jigsaw puzzles from some of the award-winning, exclusive art that has been generously donated by talented artists for our annual NPR wall calendar.
Jianan Liu is the third artist featured in our inaugural poster series. Born in Beijing, China, in 1992, Liu finished her undergrad in Beijing before joining a tech company as a UI designer. Now, Liu is an illustration student at the Maryland Institute College of Art, MFA ILP. Most of her works are editorially-focused illustrations, though she dreams of illustrating a children’s book in the near future. She loves swimming and 90’s Mandarin pop music.
Verdant Voices is an illustration of interior depicting vintage radio and window overlooking lush vegetation. Puzzles are made in the USA from 100% recycled cardboard and measure 20” x 27” when finished.
